Kwabena Nketia has emphasized African music's often inseparable relationship to dance and speech normally.[18] Some African cultures, including the Songye folks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo along with the Tiv men and women of Nigeria, have a strong and wide conception of 'music' but no corresponding word inside their native languages.
